Dreaming bigger
Reach for the stars
When it comes to your child and their ability to learn we believe everything is possible.
Research shows that children who are challenged and supported by educators who have high expectations of them build self-esteem, increase confidence and improve academic performance (Brophy, 2008; 2010).
Our tutors believe in your child and support them to aim higher and set ambitious goals. We coach children to see mistakes as an opportunity to learn and to change the phrase “I can’t do it!” to “I can’t do it yet”.
Growth mindset
A growth mindset is the belief that your abilities and intelligence can be developed and improved through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. As opposed to a fixed mindset which is the belief that ability and intelligence cannot be changed.
Developing a growth mindset forms a core part of our teaching at Explore Learning. Our tutors role-model a ‘can-do’ attitude and coach good learning habits during each session whilst our rewards programme celebrates every child’s effort and their persistence in overcoming challenges.
We support children when they find things tough. Learning will not always feel ‘fun’ and that’s okay. We help them to understand that feeling challenged/confused/that things are hard is all part of the learning process.
Fearless learners
Over the last 20 years we are proud to have supported hundreds of thousands of children to be resilient, motivated and successful learners who not only have achieved their academic goals but tackle all the challenges of life fearlessly. Our members develop:
Resilience. Children leave Explore Learning better equipped to handle adversity, as they understand that failure is not a permanent state, instead it can be an opportunity to learn and can be overcome with effort and perseverance.
A positive attitude and healthy self-esteem. Children have a more positive attitude towards themselves and others as a result of growth-mindset coaching. They are also less likely to be discouraged when things go wrong and see themselves as someone who can keep learning and growing.
A lifelong desire to learn and improve. Through developing a growth mindset, Explore members embrace challenges, view mistakes as opportunities to learn, and persist in the face of setbacks. This leads to greater academic success and most importantly a lifelong love of learning!
