Supporting your child on their SATs journey

Are you taking your SATs this May? Here's how Explore will be supporting you this year!

At Explore Learning we'll support your child before, during and after their SATs exams so they can go in with confidence!

Let's take a look at your child's SATs journey with us from the start of Year 6 all the way through to secondary school and beyond!

September

Whether you choose to join us online or in-centre, we'll get your child started at just the right level as they go into Year 6. This begins with a check of their current level in our initial assessment.

October

Following your school parents' evening, we'll offer you a progress meeting, where we'll make sure we have all the right plans in place to support you and your child

Autumn half term

Reading is the best way to build vocabulary and comprehension. During the autumn half term, encourage your child to choose a book from our recommended reading list and read daily, even if it's just a small amount.

December

Our SATs Success Workshop will give children a better understanding of the tests and how to plan for success!

January

Just 4 months to go until their SATs exams!

We'll continue focusing on subject mastery with your child, regularly practising the skills they'll need to confidently approach their SATs.

February half term

During the half term our practice papers are the perfect way for your child to start getting familiar with the SATs test layouts, and to continue working on key skills.

Schedule a progress meeting with us via your member portal. This is a great opportunity to adjust your child's learning plan and focus on areas they need to develop.

April

Our SATs Preparation Workshop will make sure your child is feeling confident and exam ready!

May

This is when your child will sit their SATs exams!

June to September

Our support doesn't end here. Now that your child has completed their SATs, secondary school is on the horizon! We'll support your child with all the KS3 practise they'll need to start strong with Year 7.
