Targeted exam preparation
It's common in maths to focus on one topic area at a time, but in an exam you need to be ready to tackle many at once.
At Explore Learning our GCSE students can practise specific areas but they will also learn how to jump from topic to topic, mimicking the style of exams.
This regular exposure to multiple topics is vital for building exam confidence, revising skills and gaining the best chance of success.

It can be difficult to get information on how your child is performing at GCSE.
As part of your membership at Explore Learning you will be invited to regular progress meetings and receive instant feedback after every session.
We will provide you with a detailed report of how your child is progressing through the GCSE curriculum, including identifying areas for practise.
We will discuss how your child is coping with the challenges of the upcoming exams, their attitude towards learning and revision techniques that you can try at home.

We've been with Explore Learning for about 6 months now and my daughter is growing in confidence with maths. She's always found maths tricky and previously got quite upset when she just couldn't get it. Her tutor takes time to really understand where she's struggling and helps her through so she doesn't panic or get upset anymore. As she's getting ready for her GCSEs the stakes are high and it's such a relief to feel that she's finally able to think about maths without worrying.

We can't say thank your enough for the support and top quality tuition we are receiving weekly over zoom on our 1:1 sessions. Our son who is in Year 9 really enjoys learning with friendly and experienced tutors from Explore learning. We definitely made the right decision to join Explore learning in preparation for GCSE’s. I would highly recommended Explore learning services to ensure that your child is following the national curriculum at the right level.
Parent
My sons grades have really improved and in his GCSE mocks he achieved an 8 in maths and 7/4 in English Language/Literature which is much improved from what he was getting. Not only that but his confidence has really improved and he loves going to the centre. Would recommend it to anyone. Keep up the fantastic work.

I have had all 3 of my daughter's attend Explore learning. My kids spent around 6 years there. This is the best tutoring place available. My daughter's not only grew academically but the tutors/management helped them grow their confidence. My kids have gone on to achieve fantastic GCSE & A-level results, explore learning has definitely helped in achieving this. I can't recommend this place enough. If your child is struggling academically or lacking in confidence, I would definitely recommend.

FAQs
When should I start GCSE maths tuition?
It's never too early to start thinking about tuition, particularly if there are aspects of a subject that you are finding tricky. Our GCSE programme supports teens from year 9 upwards with specialist resources and guidance for their exam board. Prior to making GCSE choices, we support students through our tailored maths and English programmes.
Do you offer homework support?
Yes. Your teen can request whatever support they need during their 1:1 session with their tutor. At this stage GCSE homework is often focused on revision techniques and strategies which our tutors have plenty of experience supporting.
Are Explore Learning's GCSE maths tutors qualified teachers?
We pride ourselves on having professional tutors who are employed and trained by us. This is a different skill set to being a qualified teacher. Many of our GCSE tutors are from top UK universities and are passionate mathematicians. They are fantastic role models who can explain things in a relatable way keeping your teen motivated and on track with their learning.
How online lessons work?
Our tutors will work with your teen via live video call. The tutor and student can access our learning resources at the same time, see what each other are doing and work through topics together. Tutors can see when students are starting to find something tricky and directly support them to build their confidence, knowledge and skills.
How can I revise for my GCSE maths exam?
You're not alone if you're finding revision difficult. Our tutors will share tried and tested revision techniques with you. Work with your tutor to plan a schedule of topics and they can hold you accountable in your session together each week.
