Learning in action: Travel hot spots
Chirag Golwala, Founder of Lets Travel Services, chatted to us about how getting out and about with your child provides opportunities for learning in action!
Whether a day trip or a weekend away, there are so many destinations that provide children with an opportunity to learn in action. Whether that be taking a trip to Bath and retracing the steps of Jane Austen or introducing your children to the greatest playwright of all time by exploring his birthplace in Shakespeare’s Stratford Upon Avon.
Earlier this year, I launched Let’s Travel for Children and did exactly that. The charity initiative took hundreds of school children from disadvantaged parts of London to Stratford Upon Avon. They all experienced getting close to nature at the Butterfly Farm before touring the town to see and hear all about Shakespeare in the heart of where it all started. It was incredible to see how engaged and excited these children were by learning in action.
The staycation wave creates an opportunity for parents in the UK, not just to holiday but give their children an enriching learning experience. Not every family will jet off abroad on holiday, but hopefully many more can access a destination within the UK.

Expose young minds to this marvel of 40 ton stones that were brought from Preseli Mountains over 280 miles away and discover the mysteries that surround the slaughter stone and see the numerous earth barrows where the beaker people lie buried.
