Fun ways to keep on learning during the Easter holidays
Let learning be fun this Easter!
With the Easter break just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about ways to keep the kids entertained while staying on top of their education. That’s why we’ve come up with some ways to keep learning fun during the holidays.
Egg-cellent maths activities
Easter is a great time to practice some maths skills. Whether that’s adding up all the Easter treats, dividing them between everyone or working out how many will be left if everyone eats some for breakfast. Another fun, and very on-theme activity, is a maths-based easter egg hunt. Use a range of problems suitable for your child’s key stage, write or print them on slips of paper and hide them in plastic easter eggs around your home or garden. Every problem they solve equals another treat in their Easter basket!
Egg-stra special English exercises
The two-week Easter break is the perfect time to encourage children to practice their reading skills. A new book in their favourite genre makes a great alternative to more chocolate and is likely to last longer too! Another fun activity could be to challenge everyone in the family to write an Easter-themed short story, offering a small prize for the one you all agree wins.
Fun egg-xam revision
With GCSE exams starting in May, the Easter holidays are an important opportunity to catch up on revision. To keep things fun and interesting you can help your child set up the perfect study space. Make sure they will be comfortable, have plenty of light and maybe some fun new Easter-themed stationery. A chilled-out study playlist can be a great way to help them focus. But don’t forget to encourage them to take regular breaks for snacks and some downtime.
Don’t forget the importance of rest
While it’s important to keep on top of education during the holidays, making sure kids have adequate time to rest and decompress is equally important. Without ample time to rest children can become overwhelmed and stressed, something no parent wants. So, take some time to watch a family movie, go for a walk together or spend time with friends and family this Easter too.
