What is The Buckingham Grammar Schools (TBGS) Consortium?
The 13 grammar schools in Buckinghamshire are part of a consortium known as The Buckinghamshire Grammar Schools (TBGS). The schools in TBGS consortium all use the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test, which means that there is just one test for all of the schools.

How to register for a place in The Buckinghamshire Grammar Schools Consortium?
If your child attends a Buckinghamshire primary school, they will automatically be registered for and sit the Secondary Transfer Test.
For children living in other areas of the country or attending independent schools in Buckinghamshire, you will need to apply for the test via Buckingham County Council. You will also need to submit a Common Application Form to your local council and list your preferred schools.

The Buckinghamshire Grammar Schools (TBGS) assessment
The Secondary Transfer Test (STT) for TBGS consortium is provided by the GL exam board and covers:
The STT is completed over two papers, each lasting approximately 60 minutes. Verbal Reasoning holds 50% of the mark weighting, while Non-Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics holds 25% each.
